To build SPARKs, you need to have completed the Shen's Last Gift DLC missions or the Mechanized Warfare project. SPARKs have their own armor and weapons, and they do not have utility slots like regular soldiers. Instead they have a single Heavy Weapon slot which by default contains the Shredder Gun.

Some of the Spark skills are downright garbage, and some can actually work against you. I use a build something like this,and though all my campaigns,all my sparks have maintained a 3.00+ kill/mission ratio. SPARK is a Class or Specialization in XCOM 2. SPARKs are robotic soldiers added in the Shen's Last Gift DLC. They can be built in the Proving Ground once the DLC mission is completed.

1.7k. Posted by 6 days I've seen several people complaining about the long time it takes to build a spark unit and the ultra long time it takes to repair them. Honestly, although I love psy units, training them to the magus level takes way more time than the sparks. And a full spark squad is just too good, seeing the fact that they can take 3 actions per turn.
